The process of inserting pigment into the lips with a tattoo machine to give the illusion of fuller lips, enhance the pigment, and refine the shape of the lips. If you have a history of cold sores you will need to take Valtrex at least a week before the appointment. Healing time is 1-2 weeks. There is swelling with lip blushing that will subside in 24-48 hours. Keep lips moisturized with Aquaphor or a mild lubricant and eliminate salty and acidic foods until healed. You will need a touch-up at 6 months to a year.
